XP Issues – Can’t Change Your Desktop Wallpaper?

Can’t change your desktop wallpaper?
If you have a spyware removal tool on your PC, it’s best that you update the definition file and scan for any spyware or other nasty-wares that migh be residing on your hard drive. They could very well be the culprits.

What if the result came clean – that there are no nastywares detected on your pc?

Try this:
1. Go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
2. Scroll down to item No. 142
3. Download “Allow Wallpaper/Background Changes” (it’s on the right hand column)
4. Once it’s downloaded, double click to add it to your registry.
5. Reboot.

That solved my problem. If it doesn’t solve yours, please don’t give up. Keep searching. Google is your friend. (^_^)

P/S: The file was downloaded into my pc in the form of a text file. I renamed the file from ‘wallpaperenable.reg.txt’ to wallpaperenable.reg’ and it was good to go.
